Blazers Rally In Fourth Take Down Warriors 110-105

The Portland Trail Blazers overcame a 13 point deficit heading into the fourth quarter Thursday night and beat the Golden State Warriors 110-105. Brandon Roy led all players with 41 points to help Portland secure the victory while Corey Magette led the Warriors with 24 points in the loss. The Blazers would get their fifth win in their last six games and it was their first time winning in Oakland since November of 2004.
Golden State played well for the first three quarters but they shut down offensively in the last 12 minutes of play scoring just 9 points. The two opponents would end the first quarter with the score knotted up at 28-28. The Warriors would take a slim lead with them into the locker room at the half as they were on top 60-58.
Golden State would dominate on both ends of the floor in the third and looked as if they were on the verge of wrapping up the game at the end of the third as they led 96-83 as the quarter concluded. Rudy Fernandez hit the second of back to back treys for Portland with 4:58 left in the game and the score was tied at 102-102. LaMarcus Aldridge went 1-2 at the line with 3:24 to play and the Blazers took the lead at 103-102 and they would never surrender it for the rest of the game.
Brandon Roy had a game high 41 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Andre Miller scored 15 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block while LaMarcus Aldridge added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. Rudy Fernandez and Jerryd Bayless each came off the bench for the Blazers with 12 points.
Corey Maggette led the Warriors with 24 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal while Monta Ellis had 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Rookie Stephen Curry scored 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while Anthony Tolliver had a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. Reggie Miller came off the bench with 14 points while C.J. Watson added 12 points in the loss. Portland now has a record of 39-28 and will play Friday night in Sacramento as they take on the Kings while Golden State falls to 14-47 and will host the Toronto Raptors Saturday.
